On June 25th, we brought together our global developer community for the 3rd annual Zoom Developer Summit — a day dedicated to the builders shaping the future of work and collaboration.

The event was hosted virtually and drew 580+ attendees from over 60 countries, making it our biggest summit yet! This year's theme, "Building the Future of Real-Time Collaboration," spotlighted the evolving needs of modern work and how developers are innovating with Zoom to meet those demands.

The event featured an opening keynote followed by 12 breakout sessions organized across three core tracks:

  • AI-Driven Collaboration & Intelligence – Real-time AI that enhances the way we meet, talk, and work.
  • Building for Zoom Workplace – Tools and best practices for embedding and extending Zoom using our APIs and SDKs.
  • Integrated Workflows & Realtime Business Ops – Solutions that bring Zoom into critical systems and operational flows.

Opening Keynote: Build Where the World Meets

The day opened with a keynote from Tim Slagle, Head of Developer Relations, who made it clear: while AI is everywhere, this summit was about something deeper—building.

He emphasized Zoom's commitment to being an open platform: not a walled garden, but a set of tools that plug into your world. From WebAssembly to WebRTC, and APIs built for real-world workflows, Zoom is here to support how and where you build.

Key platform updates included:

  • Realtime Media Streams (RTMS): Now GA, giving developers low-latency access to live audio, video, captions, and more—no meeting bots needed.
  • Connectors & App Actions: Hook into Zoom surfaces like Team Chat with minimal effort, using no-code, low-code, or custom options.
  • Video SDK 2.0: A major upgrade that brings Zoom's performance and reliability to the browser via WebAssembly and WebRTC
  • Zoom Rivet: A backend framework to streamline server-side Zoom apps.

Tim closed with a call to action:

"This is a builder's summit. You'll leave today with tools you can use right now—and a community to grow with."

It was a strong start to a day focused on shipping, scaling, and building what's next.

Fireside Chat: Building with Trust, at Scale

One of the most compelling moments of the day came during our Fireside Chat, where leaders from Maven Clinic, Journey, and PitchHub shared what it really takes to build with Zoom—and why they've chosen it as the foundation for their real-time solutions.

From enabling more human connection in healthcare, to simplifying integrations across enterprise systems, to getting direct input on Zoom's roadmap, the message was clear: developers see Zoom not just as a vendor, but as a true partner.

"We use Zoom transcripts to generate appointment notes for providers—it's a huge timesaver. It lets them spend more time with people, and less time on documentation."

\– Cory Noonan, Eng Manager @ Maven Clinic

"There's a genuine interest in our feedback...for a lot of vendors it's difficult to have those conversations, but Zoom has been very good at helping us through those issues."

\– Brett Shockley, CEO @ Journey

"With the developer platform, it gave us the tools to integrate seamlessly. RTMS has been a gamechanger to help us build a next-gen experience to deliver insightful prompts"

\– Andrew Devlin, CEO @ PitchHub

The chat underscored what we hear again and again: great platforms are built on trust, flexibility, and the willingness to build together.

Expert-Led Sessions & Product Deep Dives

This year's sessions showcased how developers are using Zoom's platform to build intelligent, real-time applications across a range of industries.

Two deep dives into Realtime Media Streams (RTMS) demonstrated its growing impact. In one session, we explored the key features of RTMS and how it can power a live sales coaching assistant in a demo with AssemblyAI —providing real-time feedback during customer calls using streaming transcription and LLM reasoning. Another session, Realtime AI for Enterprise, explored how global organizations are using RTMS to drive innovations in transcription, compliance, coaching, and more.

Another session, Leveraging Institutional Knowledge within Zoom Workplace, focused on embedding Generative AI with Bring Your Own Index (BYOI). By integrating knowledge engines like Amazon Q or Glean, teams can retrieve scoped insights, answer questions in context, and surface decision-making data—right within their Zoom workflows.

Additional highlights included:

  • Voice-based authentication in Zoom Contact Center, replacing security questions with real-time speaker verification
  • Real-time ERP alerts in Zoom Team Chat, bringing critical system updates to finance and ops teams without switching tools

The takeaway? Zoom's developer platform is becoming a launchpad for real-time, AI-powered enterprise apps—built to scale.
