# Getting started with Realtime Media Streams > **Note** > > To use RTMS, you'll need Zoom Build Platform credits on your account. For plan options and concurrent stream limits, see [Developer pricing](https://zoom.us/pricing/developer). For volume discounts or commitments above 500 credits, [contact sales](https://www.zoom.com/en/realtime-media-streams/#form). Use Realtime Media Streams (RTMS) to access media from Zoom Video SDK sessions using an app. RTMS will send you live audio and transcript data that you can then use AI or machine learning to analyze to meet your needs. To get started using RTMS, see [Get credentials](/docs/video-sdk/get-credentials/) in the _Zoom Video SDK_ guide. Any developer with Zoom Build Platform credits on their account can use RTMS. Create an app and subscribe to RTMS events. After you've created your app, you can use it to launch RTMS streams and start receiving RTMS data. To launch a stream, use the the `startRealTimeMediaStreams()` method in the Zoom Video SDK. ## Prerequisites Before you start using RTMS with Video SDK, ensure you have: - An active Zoom Build Platform subscription with sufficient credits. For pricing and concurrent stream limits, see [Developer pricing](https://zoom.us/pricing/developer). - Understanding of your concurrent stream needs. The default limit is 2,000 concurrent streams, but higher limits are available by request. ## To start using RTMS Follow these steps to start using RTMS. 1. [Add RTMS webhook event to your app.](/docs/rtms/video-sdk/add-features/) 2. Once your app receives the RTMS webhook event, you can [start getting media data](/docs/rtms/video-sdk/quickstart-websockets/) from your Zoom Video SDK sessions. ## Troubleshooting If you encounter errors or issues while setting up or using RTMS, see [Troubleshooting RTMS](/docs/rtms/troubleshooting/) for common error codes, webhook issues, and solutions.
